GNG Sports Centre Equipment Usage Policy 

​Purpose

All sports equipment purchased by or donated to Guru Nanak Sports Centre is the property of Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara, Gravesend, and is provided for the benefit of the entire community.

This policy is designed to ensure that equipment remains available, is properly maintained, and is protected from loss or misuse.
 

Equipment Use

  • All sports equipment must remain within the Guru Nanak Darbar Gravesend complex, including:

    • Guru Nanak Sports Centre

    • Outdoor sports pitches and playing fields

    • Other authorised areas within the Gurdwara grounds

  • Equipment may be moved between the Sports Centre, outdoor pitches, and other approved areas within the Gurdwara site for authorised activities.

  • All equipment must be returned to its designated storage location immediately after use.

  • Equipment must not be taken off-site or removed from the Gurdwara complex without the prior written approval of the Sports Centre Management Committee.
     

Responsibility

  • Club leaders, coaches, volunteers, and members are responsible for ensuring that the equipment issued to them is returned in good condition.

  • Any damaged, missing, or defective equipment must be reported to the Sports Centre management as soon as possible.

  • Equipment should only be used for its intended purpose and handled with reasonable care.
     

Unauthorised Removal

The unauthorised removal of sports equipment from the Gurdwara complex is considered a breach of this policy.

Anyone found removing equipment without permission may be subject to:

  • Suspension of facility access

  • Suspension or termination of club membership

  • Disciplinary action by the Sports Centre Management Committee

  • Recovery of replacement costs where appropriate

  • Referral to the police where theft or criminal damage is suspected
     

Borrowing Equipment

Where equipment is required for an external event or community activity, written approval must be obtained from the Sports Centre Management Committee before any equipment leaves the premises.

An equipment register may be maintained, recording:
 

  • Equipment borrowed

  • Person responsible

  • Date removed

  • Expected return date

  • Date returned
     

Our Commitment

Our sports equipment has been purchased through the generosity of the Sangat, fundraising efforts, grants, and community investment. Every member has a responsibility to care for these shared resources so they remain available for current and future generations.

Please respect our facilities and return all equipment after use. Together we can protect these valuable community assets.
